the problem:
Domestic Violence affects men and women in any relationship of any nationality. My goal is to help end domestic violence in our society.

7why it's important:
For my gold award,(highest award a girl scout can receive) I am bringing awareness about domestic violence to local middle schools and other groups.(Will display more info as time goes on)My project addresses the problem since I will share information about domestic violence in a form of a lecture, games, and a multimedia presentation which I am creating. In addition to, I am collecting encouragement letters for the women at a local women's shelter who helps domestic violence victims. I am also collecting toiletries, making blankets, and collecting teen things(like make up, cds, etc.) and toddler toys.
the plan of action:
Steps I will take is writing letters to ask for donations,setting up donation boxes, many hours of research, planning and creating the multimedia presentation, preparing and practicing my lecture, and designing activities to be used in my lecture.
how you can get involved:
I'm am going to need help with making blankets, collecting the items, and donations. In addition to, I'm going to need input on how I can improve my presentation and lecture. Ideas are welcomed.

So far, I have given 7 presentations at a local middle school with my adult friend who is a victim of domestic violence. I have made a video about dv and it is posted on youtube but right now i can't find the link to it so as soon as I find it, I will link it here. I'm planning on starting the collections in June.

hey thanx 4 expressing interest to help me with my project. One way your club can help is by writing encouragement letters to the victims of domestic violence which will be given to the Womens and Childrens Crisis Center in Whittier. Due to guidelines, the words God and Jesus can't be mentioned but you can say I will keep you in my prayers. I'm sorry for that inconveniance. I'm not going to start collecting the other items until june when school is over at my church and if you are interested in helping me with that, let me know.
