The Problem

I am working towards promoting middle school girls' interest, confidence, and success in science, technology, engineering, and math, which are subjects and career paths with a dearth of females.

Plan of Action

My plan is to hold a Girls in Science and Engineering Day, a one-day event designed to inspire and expose middle school girls to careers and fields of study in science and engineering. The girls will participate in exciting, hands-on workshops lead by successful female University of Alabama at Birmingham professors and graduate students who have a passion for STEM subjects.
