Vital Stats

See It

Foster Families: These special families care for our pets until their forever home is found. All vet care is paid by the Coalition. Families are responsible for all the love and affection they can possibly lavish on their foster pet. Sometimes we can supply foster families with donated food, but in the event that we do not have any, the families are responsible for the cost of food. Families must also bring their pet to any required vet visits and as many outreach events as possible. We are in desperate need of foster families. The more families that work with us the more pets we can rescue.

Believe It

When we rescue homeless animals, we are helping to reduce the stray animal population in our county, and we are giving these loving beins a second chance at finding love in a forever home.

Build It

The Animal Coalition of Delaware County is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit, all volunteer charitable organization registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State that is dedicated to finding loving homes for adoptable homeless pets. We are also focused on educating the public regarding the necessity of spaying and neutering pets and encouraging the humane treatment of companion animals throughout Delaware County and the Main Line. How We Do What We Do: Our hardworking group is all-volunteer and all-foster, which means that the dogs, cats and rabbits in our care reside in the safe haven of a foster home until they are adopted, versus a cage like at a traditional shelter. We get to know our foster pets very well so that we can match potential adopters and pets during our screening and interviewing process prior to adoption. Being all-volunteer also means that we have very little overhead, so the donations we collect go directly towards providing veterinary care and adoption promotion for our pets. The Animal Coalition makes sure that each pet in our care has been examined by a veterinarian, received any necessary vaccinations or tests and is spayed or neutered (if old enough) prior to adoption. We are not affiliated with any local, state or federal agency or any other SPCA or humane group. Our work is supported entirely by the generosity of the general public and the group members.
