The Problem
We are trying to save the environment one school at a time. It is amazing how the smallest things we do can make such a small difference. Whether it means using different light bulbs, changing your diet, or even the car you drive. You may not see these changes right away and it may not benefit you either. But give it time, because in the future it is really going to make things a heck of a lot easier for not only our generation but the ones to come.
Plan of Action
I started with my old high school, then worked from school to school. We got each student to do 10 small things, this included putting in compact fluorescent bulbs, turning the thermostat down a few degrees, eating better, making homemade cleaning supplies, recycling better, thinking before we buy things, mainly borrowing and returning, eating healthier, drinking tap instead of bottled water, and so on. These small things with so many people help so much. It's shocking!!! And after we heard about the project, if you volunteered, you told one person the following steps. We made packets for people so they know exactly what they need to do. People are like sheep and follow one another. So when you tell them to change their diet, buy these materials, etc. They tend to listen to what you say and in this whole process they feel a little better about themselves.
