Global Anti-FGM Project

My action plan that will bring together physicians and youth to help change the lives of young girls in villages in Sudan. The action plan includes advocating against the dangers of FGM starting with the local community here. I will hold several fundraising events in order to raise money for our mission. The Global Anti-FGM Project that will be implemented in Sudan will take place by the year of 2012. I have made plans already to fly out to Sudan at the end of this school year. A volunteer group of friends and communityy youth activists will accompany me on the mission. The first goal after arriving there is to start a mode of conversation and to communicate my intentions. We hope to educate the young girls, mothers, and the older generation about the harmful affects of FGM. I hope that this will allow me open a form dialogue so that I'm able to then help these villages. Although it is a first step, and a very small step towards a long and hard journey,but with your support and with the unity of people, this mission will be a success!
