Goshen High School Blood Drive

My local high school is trying to find a way to solve the blood shortage in the Hudson Valley Community. This is our 31th year Some Facts * The 31st Annual Blood Drive supports members of the Hudson Valley Community. * Each unit of blood can be used as whole blood or broken down to other components such as white blood cells, red blood cells, platelets, clotting factors, and plasma. * A unit of blood can help as many as five people from a collection. * Donors will have the opportunity to join the National Bone Marrow Tissue Typing Program. This program types the bone marrow by a simple cheek swabbing and then records the information in an international registry, increasing the chances of a match for those in need of bone marrow. A match may save a life, may cure or improve quality of life for someone who has Leukemia, cancer or a blood disorder.
