I would like to foster learning and appreciation towards Rwanda's native wildlife starting with the young generations by giving villages animal-related books, posters for classrooms, and other educational materials. Conservation has become a very important topic in Rwanda, and I think teaching the children the importance of animals will greatly help the country in the future. These books would also help the children in their studies of the English language, which is now being taught throughout the country. My family travels to Rwanda about two times a year-- our next trip being in mid-November. I would love to have a collection of books to give out at the villages we visit. I would also like to make booklets about individual animals in the Rwandan ecosystem and list why each is important. If enough funds are raised, I would like to take children on a field trip to Akagera National Park to see the animals. Thank you!
