G.S.A.

the problem:

My friend and I are trying to start a Gay Straight Alliance in our school. This will become a club that meets every other week and helps teens of the Gay/Lesbian/Bi-Sexual/Transgendered orientation to feel comfortable around people of the same stature. This club also invites straight people in so that they can listen to stories of the GLBT students who attend their school, and they can learn about how being discriminated against takes a toll on how we feel and how our feelings lead to droping out in school, or even go so far as suicide. Statistics show that people in the GBLT community are twice aa likely to drop out of school, twice as likely to plan a suicide, and twice as likely to even commit suicide. These are all reasons why we are trying to start the G.S.A in our school. Along with telling stories we are also going to talk about homophobia among teens, and how phobias can be cured.
