The Problem
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is dedicated to creating opportunities for decent, affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Reaching across religious, cultural, and racial boundaries, we seek to rebuild a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through homeownership.

Plan of Action
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh builds homes and community in Newburgh, New York, a small city on the Hudson River about 60 miles north of New York City. Habitat Newburgh has kept the promises it has made to the City, our community, and our partner families over the past 11 years.
To date, Habitat Newburgh has built 43 safe, decent, and affordable houses that 225 children and adults now call home, and returned over $8.3 million to assessed property values.
Our partner families are also keeping promises they have made; they are completing sweat equity hours, paying their mortgages, contributing to school and city taxes, and impeccably caring for their home in areas formerly riddled with blight and urban decay.
Thanks to our extraordinary volunteers and supporters, we are changing the face of this city, and helping local working families in need break the cycle of poverty for generations to come.
