The Problem

On a day like Halloween, the hospital is that last place that anyone would want to be, let alone where a kid would want to be. Sadly hundreds and thousands of children don't have any other choice. It's hard enough being sick and being away from friends and family, but it is even harder to deal with during this time of year. Statistics have shown that long hospital stays increase the likelihood of depression among patients, and this in turn can lead to a longer recovery period.

Plan of Action

This past Halloween was our first visit to CHOP. We decided that we'd have it be a three-part activity. Using some of the grant money we had from the Get-Well-Soon grant (Thank you DoSomething and Dunkin Brands...we couldn't have done this project without you!
