The Problem

The problem I see in our society nowadays is that people don't take time for the youth. We have all of these campaigns for preventing violence in todays youth but no one is talking to us about why we are angry. No one asks us what is going on at home, what is going on in school, what's going on in general. As youth we have been pushed aside and labled rebellious and unruly but we didn't get that way overnight. What if it took one person to just be real with them and ask what was going on?? A lot of us don't know why we are here and what our purpose is. It helps when you have 15 youth talking to a group of 800 kids just being real and dancing from the heart. Speaking to them about things we have gone through and things we felt no one would understand. I want to be that one person who can change a youth life. Who can impact them to get on the right track in life. Whether is religion, education or just life in general.

Plan of Action

My plan is to try to start up some kind of seminar for local youth. Have live concerts that will bring us together. Talk about the issues we as teens and young adults face today. I will talk about the steps I took to get my life on the right track and the steps that can be avoided. I want to have workshops for kids who may not be able to take certain extra curricular activities because of finances. For me, I didn't always go for my dream of dance because of the cost. So, if I can teach these kids and give them lessons that will allow them to propel into their future I want to do that.
