My plan of action is to go to hospitals and have fun with the youth who are being treated. While it is very important that I go to the cancer patients,I will also go to others as well. I plan to collect hats and scarfs for the cancer patients and let THEM get to design them. They will get to paint and choose what they want on the item. If any of them are not able to physically make one, then they can decide how they want it to look (saying it,or drawing it)and I will make it for them. The smile on their face will be huge when they see that it's exactly how they wanted it. We will not just make hats and never see them again though.I plan to do other crafts and activities with them aswell. I also plan for each child to have a pen pal. They can write to him/her, draw a picture for them and he/she will even get to visit them. I also plan to get them a special birthday present to show that we do care for them. There pen pal will be able to do this because they will get to know the patient so well. A stuffed animal of the patient's choice will also be given to him/her, so that if they ever have to do something (like an exam) without there parents, the animal will be there with them. The animal will be there every step of the way. This is also great because if the cild should die, the parents will get to keep the stuffed animal in rememberance of their child. I also plan to make a scrapbook with each child and parent, so that they can look back at these days. Making the scrapbook will be fun, so they will hopefully be able to smile lookin back at it.
