The Problem
Hearts for Heroes is a project that shows the soldiers fighting overseas that the people in the United States are still supporting them and caring about them. Sometimes, it can get lonely when you are overseas fighting, so this project allows the real heroes to be aware that they are not forgotten and what better time to show them how much we care than on Valentine's Day!
Why It's Important
Hearts for Heroes is a fun and easy way to show the soldiers fighting overseas that they are not forgotten and how much we still care about them. All you have to do to participate is make/buy a Valentine's Day card and fill it with your well wishes to the soldiers. There is no postage required, you just need to get it/mail it to a drop off location. The main drop off location is Naper Nuts and Sweets 10 W. Jefferson Avenue Naperville, IL. 60540.
The Plan Of Action
In order to get this project on its feet, I got help from local newspapers, television stations, and radio stations to begin covering the project. Once word got out about the project, I began speaking with local schools, retirement homes, clubs, businesses, etc. to ask their help in actually making the cards. Over the past three times of doing this project, I have managed to collect and send over 100,000 Valentine's over to the soldiers fighting overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.
How Can Others Get Involved?
Now is the perfect time to start helping with this project! All you have to do is make/buy a Valentine's Day card, fill it with your well wishes to the soldiers, and address it to "My Hero." Then find a way to get it to Naper Nuts and Sweets at 10 W. Jefferson Naperville, IL. 60540 and that is where we will ship the cards out from. You can make one or you can make one hundred! Every card counts!!!

Hi!
This is a wonderful idea!
How would you like some help from Obama supporters in London, England?
Can we write cards and send them to you?
Hey! I work for starbucks and I want to get my team involved in sending valentines. When would the deadline be for getting them to you? They would be coming from FL.
Hello!
Thank you so much for supporting the project!

Oh! And I am also so thrilled to hear that you would like your Starbucks team to help out as well! As long as you get the cards here before Valentine's Day then that is all that matters! But even if they come late, I will still make sure they get sent over!
Thanks so much!

What a great idea! Congratulations on being Project of the Day. I totally want to get involved.
Hi Amy,
Tomrrow is Jan 19 - not a day off, a day on! Martin Luther King Jr. Day -- when we recognize the power of one man to bring about change by serving his country.
It has been on my heart to do something in support of our soldiers and this is the answer to my prayers. Bless your heart for your idea. I will help you and ask others to send you at least one valentine for our troops.

OnePerson: Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. I am glad that this is a project that you support. It is also one that hits very close to home for me and I so appreciate all the help I can get! But on top of that, the soldiers appreciate it...and that is really what matters! Thank you so much for your help! Even one Valentine can make the biggest difference in a soldiers life!

Wow! I think this is a wonderful idea i sure would like to do this at my school I'm going to start making some so I can send the troops. Honestly what a wonderful idea|!!!!!!!!!
Hey! This is such a great idea. I'm totally interested in helping out.
Actually, my girl scout troop would love to send some cards down, I don't know how many we can get out though. Do you have like a cutt off date or anything? And should we put 'Hearts For Heroes' on them since it's the project name, or should we not? Like I said, this is a wonderfull idea and I hope we can send them over :)
(Oh, and do you have an address we can send them too?)

purplerubi: Thank you so much for your support! Oh! And it would be amazing if you got your school to help out too! The more cards, the more the soldiers get! Thank you so much!
volunteersrock92: I'm so happy to hear that you would like to get your girl scout troop involved! That's a great idea! There really is not a cut off date for the project. We would like to get them sent over by Valentine's Day, but if they do not get here until after that...we will still send them over! I think the soldiers just like to receive them, regardless of the date! You can send them to
