The Problem

In America it's easy to forget that some of the world does not live with the many privileges we have access to. It is certainly hard to imagine life without computers, cell phones, television and vehicles, but imagine a life without a roof over your head, education, and the seemingly simple amenities of plumbing and fresh water. In the district of Kahama in Tanzania, Africa, there are villages that experience the exquisite poverty mentioned above. They don't know the benefits of the average lives our Americans lead, but they can experience our help. Over the course of the past two years, a community outreach effort has been made to provide housing, education, and medical aid to the people of the villages and towns in Kahama, Tanzania. We are a missionary group founded out of St. Cyril and Methodius parish in Sterling Heights, Michigan, and we have made it our mission to provide for these people what we ourselves enjoy here.

Plan of Action

Currently, our organization has aided in the fundraising and completion of a girls' school and dormitories for the people of Kahama. Our next plan of action is to finish the building of a health clinic and church that was started in 2010. The cost of this endeavor is near $300,000, and we have successfully raised $202,942 of that cost on our own. We are still raising funds for the next projects awaiting completion that are detailed below: -housing -latrines -a visiting center for people of the surrounding area to come to for aid
