“The thousands of undocumented young people in New York City are today looking to the State legislature to do what’s right, and to pass this act which will allow undocumented young people to fully contribute to the State through their work and education. I stand here today as an immigrant myself, to make clear that all immigrants, regardless of the status of their documentation, deserve a chance to contribute to our society. If we don’t come together now to recognize immigrants as one of economic engines of the city and the State, we risk losing one of the elements that makes us so dynamic. I thank State Senator Bill Perkins and Assemblymember Guillermo Linares for introducing this bill, and urge all of my fellow council members to join us in standing up for immigrants by passing this resolution” said NYC Council Member Ydanis Rodriguez.
