The Problem

The club I started in High School addresses more then just one issue. In the four years that I attended that school, we donated food and toys to the local shelter, raised $1,100 for Hurricane Katrina, went and actually volunteered for a week in New Orleans, and raised $13,000 to build a school in Nepal through the organization "Room to Read".

Plan of Action

I started the Helping Humanity Club my Freshman year of high school. During my first year we were only 8 members strong be we did all kinds of car washes and volunteer days. As the years went on we grew to 30+ members and had outreach programs as far as Nepal. Even after I left the club continues to flourish and is currently working on a fund raising project in Africa. It has also come to my attention that another local high school has started their own version of Helping Humanity Club complete with canned food drives and beach clean ups!
