The Problem

With the passing of only one or two generations, our heritage and ancestry is often lost. At the Southern California Genealogical Society and Family History Library, our mission is to encourage you to: • Enjoy you heritage, your family traditions, and the contributions family members have made toward our country and to our unique character; • Encourage you to preserve the treasures you have in your written records, oral traditions, and artifacts; and • Encourage you to record, for future generations, the uniqueness and richness of this legacy.

Plan of Action

Participate, as a one of the all-volunteer staff, on a regular basis as a librarian and board member. Time spent includes shelving materials, assisting patrons with research, defining and executing projects that increase the usability and preserve library collection and leading activities that promote the growth of library outreach and education programs.

Project Updates

Through the end of May, we are recruiting for volunteers to support our annual "genealogy jamboree", a 3-day conference at the Burbank Marriott. Check out the opportunities list at
