The Hip Hop Entertainment Law Project was created as a way to combat the growing School to Prison Pipeline epidemic. The School to Prison Pipeline is more of an epidemic than AIDS, therefore, immediate action must be taken to publicize and stop this epidemic. The Hip Hop Entertainment Law focuses on information dissemination and publication with a goal to promote public school policy and legislative reform.
The second problem the Project addresses is the lack of basic music business knowledge of today's entertainment artists which leads to artists making very bad business decisions that are not conducive to their success. The last issue the Project seeks to address is the lack of opportunities for law students to pursue careers in Entertainment Law.
