The Problem

I am trying to lower the HIV incidence rate in adolescent females. The HIV incidence rate in Kaoma, Zambia when I was there was 4 out of 10 were HIV positive. I tried to relay information about HIV to school-aged females. I also tried to help a fellow volunteer get teens tested for HIV.

Plan of Action

I volunteered through an organization called IICD. When I was in Kaoma, the HIV station I volunteered for did not have enough money for me to find work, so I went out to find my own. I taught about HIV/AIDS to a school HIV club, called the S.A.F.E. Club. The plan was to educate as many adolescence as possible. The more information they know the more information they are likely to tell others- creating a chain reaction.
