The Problem

My project was to help a local homeless shelter get off hte ground so they could finalyl open their doors to women and children who need shelter. They had been through a lot in trying to get open and were (are) facing imense debts in the process. I put together a benefit show at the local magic show and together my community raised $1,000.

Plan of Action

The Haven is a large house that has three floors for women and children to sleep in until they get back on their feet. They also are doing hte basement for a men's area. They needed money, as most organizations do, so they could get over the "debt hump." I work for a Magic Show Theater and my bosses aloud me to organize a benefit show. I sold tickets for a discount price and all the proceeds went directly to the Haven. Many local people were interested and most decided to go. It was a lot of work and advertising, but it paid off!
