The Problem

After a well known family in our community found out their daughter, Hope, had stage 4 Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, also known as a brain tumor, the community soon felt affected by the pain the family was experiencing. I taught the community to have hope when we needed it the most.

Plan of Action

I had been interested in printing t-shirts long before this came about. When i decided to help, I knew i wanted to sell t-shirts to raise awareness of the cancer, lift the spirits of the community, and most importantly help the family in their time of financial need. I created a shirt that was sold for $13, $10 of which went to the family and $3 of which that went towards the t-shirts. I promoted the idea on a facebook group and within 3 hours of it's posting, i had people knocking on my front door wanting to know more. $10,000 later and 1000 shirts sold, the community couldn't help but smile when they saw a teal hope shirt, they were every where.
