The Problem

Huacas, Costa Rica is a poor, small town. There isn't much to do in Huacas, but that will soon change. The Salon Comunal, in English the Community Center, has been dirty and decrepit for the last ten years. Our group, Advocates for Change, is undertaking a complete renovation of the community center.

Plan of Action

The project will be completed in phases; phase one to include completely repainting inside and out, replacing the lights, and installing retractable basketball hoops. Phase two will consist of remodeling and expanding the boys and girls bathrooms, and removing and rebuilding the current kitchen. Phase three will include a children's play ground, a recycling center, and BMX/Skate park.
