Hugs Across America

Hugs Across America is a not for profit charity that provides teddy bears for children in crisis. Our bears ride with Fire Depts./Police/EMT's to comfort frightened children, go to Family Court and Child Abuse Centers into the arms of victims, to Pediatric Emergency Rooms and Cancer Care Centers, to Grief Counseling and Shelters set up by the Am. Red Cross, Disaster Teams or International Aid after natural disasters or terrorism and also to the children of troupes in war zones. We have and encourage thousands of volunteers...mostly children to join our effort. Schools, scouts, youth groups, colleges, Greeks, collect NEW bears, write out personalized tags of hope for each bear and deliver them to the recipient agency. It's great fun and a wonderful benefit to both. All ages love to make a difference! Helping us comfort our most vulnerable victims...traumatized children....does just that, makes a difference!
