Human Trafficking is Slavery

I began working with these organizations in August of 2010. When I first began, I simply wanted to raise awareness and several hundred dollars to buy a sewing machine for a woman in an aftercare program in India. After selling baked goods and my school and then inviting my peers and their parents to my house to educate them and take donations,I realized I wanted to continue on with this journey. I started learning more about the issue myself, then telling everyone I knew all that I knew, and then found myself getting my whole school involved in raising money to stop Human Trafficking. I have raised over $1200 and continue to raise more awareness and more money by the week. I have sold fair trade items to help rescued slave victims, vocalized my passion for the subject, and am currently helping IJM host a movie night at my school.
