Hunger Campaign
the problem:
We are trying to solve the poverty rates in our community. As of now, 60% of incoming freshman at my school are on free/reduced lunch, a number too high to be satisfied with. This is proof poverty and hunger will continue to rise unless something is done. We are trying to target needy families and provide them with support through helping the Oregon Food Bank.

15why it's important:
It is important to me because as part of the community, I feel it's a responsibility. As I am not on free/reduced lunch, I feel grateful and want to help others who need it most. There may be starving children in Africa who everyone focuses on, but what about our own community? We need to help our family.
the plan of action:
My plan of action is to prepare a slideshow with my club members, show it at lunch, and have students then donate money. All proceeds will go to the oregon food bank. I also plan on volunteering with the Oregon Food Bank and making our effort go public with local media.
