In the capital city alone of Bangui, Central African Republic there are over 100,000 orphans. Many are orphaned due to AIDS, uprisings and lack of food and medicine. For the last three years I have been collecting gifts for these orphans and sending them over with ICDI (Integrated Community Development International). This year, at 10 years of age I was able to make my first trip to C.A.R. to personally deliver gifts to over 500 orphans and work with them and experience the poverty and needs there. After that trip I have now decided to step up my efforts and start raising awareness and funds for the orphans in Africa. Beginning with Bangui, CAR and then as funds allow outreaching to other communities in Africa.
