The Problem

Even after five years since the infamous Hurricane Katrina, many still do not have a home and are in need of a place to live. Our group goes down and does whatever we can to keep the process going, even after the amount of support for the efforts has decreased.

Plan of Action

I have already educated around 40 people in my school by having presentations about the topic of hurricane relief that focused mainly on Hurricane Katrina. I have also gone down to Gulfport, Mississippi for four years (will be five this February) and have helped to rebuild both their houses and their hopeful spirits. I will continue to hold fundraisers that will go to the relief efforts, and will continue to educate people that Hurricane Katrina's mark is still with us today, and we cannot ignore that.
