RiverFusion grew out of the Illick's Mill Partnership, which was founded in 2001, and the members have since been working non-stop to accomplish the ambitious goals they have set. The project started out with a mission to transform the City of Bethlehem's historic Illick's Mill Building into an environmental education center, which will receive it's permanent Certificate of Occupancy in two weeks! To open the Mill to the public, the project had to raise $1,000,000 for the necessary materials to do so. With undying efforts, we have now raised the money, showing that we are capable of achieving the high standards we set for ourselves as capable members of the community. In the eight years that the project has been in existence, we turned the Mill from a dilapidated unsafe structure into a gorgeous center with educational murals and huge glass doors overlooking Monocacy Creek, and we have always honored the Mill's history as a thriving music center for youth in the 1960s. In 2002, we began hosting Riverfusion annually with great success. In past years the event has featured well-known national acts such as G. Love and Special Sauce, New Found Glory, Hellogoodbye, Something Corporate, Rusted Root, and The Ataris. By hosting a well-known act, we guarantee better attendance for the dozens of local bands that perform. Every year the festival attracts thousands of people, and is a very popular event in the Lehigh Valley.
