The Problem

Many cultures, including American, are often stereotyped by mainstream media that shows a very narrow image, and often times a negative image, of many global cultures. I.AM.Freedom Music’s purpose for International Freedom Week is to erase mental boundaries, teach cultural competence, and inspire communities to live better for a global future. I.AM.Freedom Music presents 'International Freedom Week" to share with the world the true beauty of the international experience, through ‘Freedom Music‘. [Freedom Music] is revolutionary genre that expresses culture through politics, education, and/or liberation. “I.AM.Freedom Music is the ‘spring-board’ medium that reaches an international community who may not understand politics, entrepreneurship, or cultural competence. However the one thing they will understand is music; Freedom Music primarily. This is how we bridge the gap.” Jazz Elyse

Plan of Action

International Freedom Week is an eight (8) day festival features exciting educational seminars, financial workshops, and cultural entertainment uniting Greensboro's dynamic communities. North Carolina has never seen anything like this before! International Freedom Week runs from September 19 through September 27, 2010. Scheduled events are intended to promote cultural competence, political understanding, and global awareness. I.AM.Freedom Music Inc. dares the residents in Greensboro to "be active and [stay] involved" with highlighted organizations featured during International Freedom Week.
