The Problem

Two problems: Orphans in Kenya at the Belwop Rescue Center have "blankets on rotation," meaning, they take turns getting to use a blanket to sleep with. Second problem: So many girls in my community have not experienced the INCREDIBLE JOY of stepping out of their small social circle and doing something for someone else....some of them - never! I want to invite a group of girls in my neighborhood to step out of their comfort zone. Instead of the mall today, come to my house and discover real joy by making "no sew" fleece blankets for my church leaders to bring to their upcoming visit to Nyeri, Kenya. There are 22 orphans at this time and these blankets will be made by our hands, and each child will get a personalized message on their blanket so they are comforted physically and know they are loved. This might change the lives of some of my friends too!

Plan of Action

Buy many yards of fleece. Invite 21 girls over. Each girl makes one blanket. Each girl writes a special message with the blanket. My church leaders hand deliver the blankets.
