JROTC Takes Charge
the problem:
Living in a small border town southwest of texas is hard to get people around you to get up and get out to change our planet. The small town of Eagle Pass has a Metropolitan Area's population of 48,401 people. That isn't much if you compare to cities of course. The town was smaller but as years pass by more and more buildings like houses and retail stores have been constructed. What the town is lacking of are trees and plants. It needs more green and less gray as in steel. Our town needs to be known out there. No body knows this but Eagle Pass was the first United States settlement on the Rio Grande. Originally known as Camp Eagle Pass, it served as a temporary outpost for the Texas militia, which had been ordered to stop illegal trade with Mexico during the Mexican-American War. [wikipedia]But besides that ...On April 24, 2007, at 7:00 p.m CST, a tornado tore through Eagle Pass and caused loss of life and property damage. The community was paralyzed for more than week. During that time students in the schools nearby helped out so that's when i got thinking maybe we can change Eagle Pass.
