The Problem

We are working with middle school students in the Bay Area. The problem we are trying to address is the lack of: motivation, moral discipline, sense of purpose and academic rigor in young people.

Plan of Action

We are using sustained spiritual empowerment programs that will enable the junior youth to take ownership of their spiritual and intellectual development, to develop a strong sense of purpose and the volition to make good decisions, and to engage in meaningful social action in their communities. We initiated a student community service group on the Stanford campus. We have implemented a program of training for Stanford students who would like to run these sessions at schools. We have been reaching out to middle schools close to Stanford to initiate the project.
