I started a vegetable garden at my home and dedicated the harvest to local soup kitchens. I then asked my school if I could start a garden at the school. They granted me a plot of land the length of a football field. More gardens sprang up with the sole purpose of feeding people in need. To raise funds to manage my gardens I started my not-for-profit, Katie's Krops. Katie's Krops now has numerous gardens and has donated thousands of pounds of fresh produce to organizations that help people in need. The mission of Katie's Krops is to start and maintain vegetable gardens of all sizes and donate the harvest to help feed people in need, as well as to assist and inspire others to do the same. The problem of hunger is real, Katie's Krops mission is simple, we all can help because it only takes a seedling.
