The Problem

Kelsey's Dream helps children with cancer and children in need. We are helping to make the childrens' stay at the hospital a little more enjoyable and let them have something to look forward to when they go for treatments. The following programs have been created for the foundation; Snack Pack Program, Happy Transplant Day, Blanket Program and Teddies To Go Program. We proudly support Gabe's Chemo Duck Program. Our goal is to provide a Chemo Duck to every child diagnosed with cancer, on the East Coast.

Plan of Action

When creating 'Kelsey's Dream', I thought back to all the times my sister was in the hospital. I thought if they could bring smiles to her face, turning those items into projects would be a way for me to help bring smiles to other chldrens' faces. I feel we have made a huge impact not only on the children we are helping and their families but the people in the community. When people find out what 'Kelsey's Dream' is and what we're about, they are always more then willing to help out in any way possible.

Project Updates

We continue to help more and more children with cancer and children in need. At Christmas, 2010, we helped 38 children in, by providing everything they requested and needed. That's a big increase, because the last 2 years we helped 12 children.

Kelsey's Dream now provides Handmade blankets to children undergoing Bone Marrow Transplants, at all Pediatric Transplant hospitals, in 4 states.

Kelsey's Dream now provides handmade hats, scarves, mittens and pillowcases, to some of the Pediatric Transplant Hospitals, that receive handmade blankets.

The quest to provide every child diagnosed with cancer, on the East Coast continues. By the end of 2010, we completed fundraising for North Carolina and New York. Those Chemo Ducks are paid for and ordered and should arrive at those hospitals soon. Florida is the only state on the East Coast that we need to provide for.

Kylie Kuhns, Founder of Kelsey's Dream, recently appeared on the Rachael Ray Show and in USA Today. She has 6 weeks to complete her "Kindness Challenge". She developed her own "Kindness Challenge", and it's a hard one. She wants to raise enough funds, to donate Gabes Chemo Ducks to all Pediatric Hospitals in Florida. To do this she must raise about $17,250. We need your support. You can donate online at www.kelseysdream.org. Hold a dress down day at your office, hold a fundraiser or whatever you can to help her achieve her goal. We need all funds by 2/27/11. Thank you to our local Dunkin' Donuts for helping kick off Kylie's Kindness Challenge, by donating her first $500.
