The Problem

We are trying to help our local homeless shelter, Crisis Ministries, to build a new shelter. The new shelter will be more efficient and safer. It will have free health services, legal services, and will help the homeless people get back up on their feet and find a new home. The new shelter is $6,000,000 to build, and Crisis Ministries has raised $5,000,000 so far. Our goal is to help raise the last $1,000,000, and we won't stop until we achieve our goal! We also hope in the future to sell key kits where groups of kids around the world can make their own keys to raise money for a cause that they are passionate about, especially to help the homeless.

Plan of Action

My friends and I started Keys for Hope, we collect recycled keys from hardware stores around us, spray paint them, and decorate them with fun and cool embellishments. We make the keys into necklaces, key chains, ornaments, or pins and we tie them onto a card explaining our project. We sell the keys at festivals, farmers markets, and stores around South Carolina.
