The Problem

In Tanzania, only 5% of girls make it past primary school, relegating them to a life of extreme poverty, with bleak opportunities for the future.

Plan of Action

I designed a soccer camp for girls in Tanzania. It’s called the Kilimanjaro Soka Kambi, which means “soccer camp” in Swahili. I want to spread my passion for soccer around the world. My hope is that not only will the girls love soccer, but they will also learn the importance of teamwork, effective communication, persistence, goal setting, inclusiveness, leadership, confidence, and pushing boundaries.

Project Updates

The trip to Tanzania was incredible! I somehow started five soccer teams at locals schools and we're forming a league. The girls loved playing soccer! They smiled every practice and couldn't get enough soccer.
