The "closed off" feeling from living in a small town. the lack of entertainment for highschool and young college students in a town run by selfish pollotics and bars. we had a venue and gallery that we created out of our house. we followed all the laws and never had a noise ordinace because of the compliance with our neighbors, they loved what we were doing for the kids, however when the city of plattsburgh found out about how much money we had made through donations (non of which we keep, it all goes back to the musicians and artists) they shut us down. they had done this after about a year of us already trying to create a city youth center. we NEED art and music in this town!!!

there NEEDS to be something else in this town for our youth. we are ignored and treated like pests. there are no programs to help stimulate the young adults in the city of plattsburgh due to HUGE budget cuts by the mayor. only more cerfews and school laws to keep us quite and indoors "not causing trouble". i see so much potential in the youth here and given our placement in NY we are surrounded by cities that have such rich music and arts cultures that the youth can be exposed to. i want to bring that here to plattsburgh.

starting a music and arts venue. studio space for artists, practice studio for "garage bands" without a garage. a gallery for the artists who are to "nonconformist" (actual quote) for the current cultural center, a venue for touring bands and local (of course) and a place for people to go to when campus or home is only going to bring them party.

by bringing their own creative hearts, i want this place to be a blank canvas and let the youth turn it into what they want to learn about and express. we have donations of art suplies, music equipment, we just need the money for the city board to take us seriously. we plan on doing this totaly alone with out the help of our city because we have been stopped by them so often in the past (not litteraly stopped, but they want total control and TONS of money) if we go at it alone with help from else where they will have no say over what we do so long as we follow the codes already in the law books. (they tend to change things around inorder to get what they need)
