I am a student at UMASS-Dartmouth who began a volunteer project and is slowly bringing into a full-time project following my graduation. This project takes place in La Romana, Dominican Republic where Haitians leave extreme poverty only to find themselves in extreme poverty. These people live and work in sugarcane fields seven days per week for fourteen hours a day making as little as $10. They have no electricity, no running water, no medical care, very little food and little education. Ailments such as malnutrition, HIV, malaria and typhoid are a huge part of this scenario. This project works with the Good Samaritan Hospital in La Romana to bring water, sturdy homes, schools and medical care to these villages. This is an ongoing project, which began in 2006.

Hi my name is Asia and i really am inspired by what you and many ohter people are doing to help the cause. It seems like you have done a pretty good job on your project so I was wondering if you could possibly help me out and/or give me some pointers on what I can do to get help for funding my Project.
Thanks, ASIA
