the problem:
We are three sisters who created a non-profit organization designed to promote literacy. We donate books to teachers at underprivledged schools in the hope that we are putting more books into the hands of students. We have collected over 3,000 books and donated them to 5 schools. We are also creating our own website right now to make it easier for teachers to receive books for their classroom libraries.

12/4/07-The books now go to the teachers’ classroom libraries, so the children can continue their education outside of school. The more money and books L.E.A.R.N. collects, the more children will learn and expand their reading level by giving them access to books will make them likely to reach that goal.

My club is doing almost the same kind of project like you guys, but we are donating school supplies/books. I was just wondering like how you found out schools that were underprivledged, like contacting their districts??

How were you able to collect the books?
thanks!!
Well, it is actually harder to find schools than you might think. We went on the LAUSD website, because that we live in LA and we called different schools to see if they were interested. Good Luck!! Your project sounds great.
We mainly held many book drives in our community and in our school.
