The Problem

We are trying to promote hemp production, regulate commercial cannabis, legitimize medical use, and decriminalize personal use. This will add revenue to a state sorely in need, limit government intervention concerning personal freedoms, decrease unnecessary spending in law enforcement, and create enormous potential for entrepreneurial and sustainable endeavors. This Act will also promote hemp cultivation, clean biofuel production, and education and treatment programs as opposed to the wasteful (and completely ineffective) measures taken by the federal government to criminalize and punish peaceful citizens. We need more than 100,000 signatures by July 2010 to make it to the ballot in November, so as much support as necessary is crucial for success! http://www.cannabistaxact.org

Plan of Action

We are asking for as many volunteers as possible to speak with people in their communities and explain why this is such an important issue, how this particular act will benefit everyone equally, and getting as many signatures so the initiative can be voted on in November. Please look at the website for information, referring anyone interested in substantial change to do so as well, and print out and copy the signature sheet for yourself (and others!), or contact if you would like to gather signatures to help a wonderful cause :)
