Since its charter in 1940, JA of Chicago has reached nearly three million students in the greater Chicago metropolitan area. Junior Achievement is committed to bringing relevant economic education to students of all ages, preparing them to become better consumers, citizens, employees and leaders. JA programs give students a chance to meet business people face-to-face and learn about the world of business through education enrichment activities. JA students are more likely to attend college, select a business-related major, take more personal responsibility for their behavior, and have more positive self- concept and higher self-esteem.
