Life Connections Missions Project

the problem:

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Based on statistics from the World Bank, 78% of Haitians live on less than $2.00 per day and 54% live on less than $1.00 per day. Life expectancy is about 52 years. I want to change all that and help provide a quality education, from preschool through high school, to produce responsible productive graduates, and to improve their lives through various ministries, and raise money for the public schools in the village of Montrouis, Haiti.

why it's important:

Because I have a passion for helping others who can't do for themselves and there are many children that need help getting sponsered to pay for the tuition, books, and uniforms for school. These children have lost everything and I have everything to give. It's unfair that these children, born into a world of proverty, can't have a free education because they don't have the money. It's just not there fault, so it's a big deal to me that these children can't live there lives because of the country they live in.

the plan of action:

First, I began by ministering to the general needs of the community. Then, I sponsered a child to make sure she recieved money to eat and go to school. After about five years of doing so, I finally volenteered to visit and help with the ongoing needs of Haiti. As of right now I continue to donate clothes and money, and await for the chance when I can return to Haiti and help even more, aside from what I am doing.

how you can get involved:

1.Minister to the general needs of the community.
2.Administer College Education Excellence and sponsorship program for the school.
3.Provide a feeding program at the school.
4.Partner with medical missions.
5.Build homes & provide other humanitarian services to the children of Mont Rouis.
6.Host incoming groups that wish to visit and help with the ongoing needs of Haiti.

Wow, you are doing such a great thing. Amazing initiative! When are you visiting Haiti next? Also, have you applied for a Do Something Grant? If not, you really should. It would be an awesome opportunity to help you with what you are trying to accomplish! Here's the link: http://www.dosomething.org/node/501367. Best of luck!

I hoped to visit Haiti next August, before I go to college. I am trying to get into Berklee the College of Music. You see ever since I came back from Haiti my passion for music has grown stronger. I met alot of talented people over there who love to sing and dance and play all kinds of instruments. Most of the people I sang for loved christian music, and Life Connectons Missions has started contributing funds to starting a music ministry over there. My plan is to go to Berklee and improve my music skills, and record music, then throw a concert in Haiti. However, I am fighting to get scholarships and grants, so I could really use the money. I didn't understand how singing could fall into helping people as a career, but now I see how I can use both. All I need is the money and oppurtunity.
