The Problem

Supplying water to people that are without clean water resources in third world countries such as those in Africa.We give them water purifiers-LifeStraws- and these purify and clean turbid water of viruses and disease for them to drink safely, because these people often have to drink from the same water their animals do which holds the threat of fatal illnesses such as malaria.

Plan of Action

I walked the school, talking to classes of the importance of the LifeStraw, and collected their generous donations. The next year, I set up a school presentation that displayed the LifeStraw's importance and was able to collect more donations. This current year, I presented a different LifeStraw presentation to my school and community (local Rotary Club), and designed shirts that I sold in school to raise funds for the support of the LifeStraw.

Project Updates

We are vying to present the LifeStraw at the Rotary District Conference in April, and we have hopes of extending the efforts of this project to aid the people of Haiti who really are in need of water without the water bottle waste.
