The Problem
Many elderly people are far too lonely without visitors or regular positive interaction with family and grandkids. Far too many teenagers are either bored or lonely and turn to negative activities in their communities.
We are eliminating prejudices between teenagers and elderly. We are solving loneliness between the two groups as well as creating a greater community connection for all.
Plan of Action
Our plan of action is to start at one local senior citizen with visiting them once a month to play games, eat a meal, and just get to know them a little.
Our bigger plan is to create more frequent visits with more teens and elderly involved. This will be consistent process that just builds in the number of volunteers(teens) and recipients(elderly) involved.
Other ideas involve
: A teen/elderly meet and greet dance.
: Having an elderly person teach a teen something (cook a certain dish).
: Having teens put on a program/talent show for the elderly.
: Having teens listen to/record an elderly's story.
