This mentoring groups bring positive working males from the community to come and talk with us to help us overcome obstacles such as: high school drop outs, peer pressure, violence, stealing, gang violence, etc. In our community that is infested with drugs we are bringing together the young males to make a difference. We are called MIA (Males In Action). Our population is 900 residents which is primarily elderly, but is booming with young people hanging on the corners and barbershops. We currently have 20 young males involved and we do road blocks, concerts, trainings, and take educational field trips.
