Marna's Pals

We are officially recognized as a business in the state of NJ. We have filed for tax exempt status, 501(c)3 status on January 4th, 2012. Our plan of action is hold fundraising events throughout the year to build our fund. The two largest events of the year are a golf outing and a gala in September and November respectively. Our goal is to build up our volunteer base to help organize these events and others as well as build up a donor and sponsor base. Our goal is $10k for the end of the year. We are in the very beginning stages of reaching our goal. We hope to receive 501(c)3 tax exempt status to help with donations and sponsors for our golf outing and gala. To help publicize our organization we've set up a Twitter account and Facebook fan page. In 2 days, our Facebook page has received over 175 likes and within the first 24 hours we received an e-mail from an applicant! Our twitter account has attracted nearly 50 followers within 2 days, helping us to get in touch with other philanthropies. We have an application for scholarship applicants, the deadline is set for October 31st, 2012 and a decision for awardees will be announced by January 31st, 2013.
