Martin Luther King Weekend of Service

the problem:

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and his service to his country, the Red Cross Club will be volunteering at two different locations over the three-day weekend. On January 17th, we will be volunteering at Housing Works, a building dedicated to serve those with HIV/AIDS and are homeless, and paint the cafeteria, hallways, etc. On January 19th, we will volunteer at JCC by serving meals to the homeless, making welcome baskets for children in area hospitals, etc.

why it's important:

This weekend of service to these organizations will help improve the lives of those suffering this winter, whether it'd be serving those with HIV/AIDS or the homeless.

the plan of action:

I searched for community centers in need for volunteers, especially for the MLK Jr. weekend. So far, I have enough active volunteers to assist me and my project to serve the needy and the sick.
