The Problem

The Red Cross Club is trying to raise money for the Red Cross' Measles Initiative, Vaccinate a Village. The money that we we donate will go to vaccinating children in Africa against the measles.

Plan of Action

The Red Cross Club decided on having a Waffle Bake Sale. We thought this would be a good idea because there are two school-wide free periods before lunch twice a week, so if we sold waffles then, people would be hungry. On top of that, what hungry high schooler wouldn't want a waffle with all the wonderful toppings we offered (chocolate chips, jimmy rainbow sprinkles, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, bananas, and strawberries)? The Red Cross sold each waffle for a dollar, hoping that the idea that by buying a waffle, one was vaccinating a child elsewhere. We charged toppings for another dollar. All the money we raised is going to the Red Cross' Measles Initiative. Our club raised $60 in our first waffle bake sale, and $90 in the next one! We helped out 160 children by selling waffles that we made at school.
