I am an engineering student, currently enrolled at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. My inspiration for going to school and becoming an engineer in my great aunt. She is diagnosed with severe juvenile arthritis, and well as may other medical conditions that do not allow her to be fully functional. She breaks bones and destroys parts of her body every time she goes to do something. My goal, by going to school and becoming an engineer, is that I can make her artificial body parts and help to improve her quality of life. My great aunt is my inspiration and is the drive that keeps me going everyday. We are extremely close and she is so full of encouragement. It would mean the world to me to be able to help her in all ways possible. With scholarships it helps me to get additional study aids that I could really use in order to succeed at a faster pace. My college tuition is outrageous, but I am determined to help improve the quality of life, not only for my aunt, but for the millions of others that suffer from severe medical conditions.
