The Problem
This August 1st – 7th, I will have the unique opportunity of traveling to Honduras with a group of forty students and medical professionals with the Miami Dade College Global Medical Brigades program. We will spend a week traveling to underserved, rural areas around the city of Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, setting up temporary clinics providing medical treatment- free of charge- to an incredible total of over 7,000 patients. Yet this is still barely scratching the surface of what we can do, and we are working hard to bring even more aid to those who need it most.
Plan of Action
We are fund raising for medications, doctors, and student travel. Each student traveling to Honduras will have to pay a total of $750.00, along with the medications we need to purchase. We have an itinerary of medications that need to be shipped to our headquarters in Honduras.
